Public Sanitation

Has your short-term mission team built an outdoors toilet without much instruction? As a result, has they polluted the precious water resources on the field?

SWIM Missions aim to provide instruction on toilet design, building skills and give them hands-on experience so that we can help the natives.

  • We teach them on importance of sanitation, which is one of main causes of water pollution. We appoint a native leader to diagnose and prevent water pollution and spread of diseases, and we also teach them how to use human waste to improve their farming.

  • We aim to build public toilets out of material that is easily obtained. We give them technical instruction on how to build a toilet, and we also educate them on cultural aspects so that we can be sensitive about their customs, folk religion, flow of underground water, etc. so that in turn, we can share the marvelous light of the gospel with them.

"and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also."

2 Timothy 2:2 (ESV)
